Welcome to our online discussion of Dallas Willard and Jan Johnson's Renovation of the Heart in Daily Practice: Experiments in Spiritual Transformation. Each day, Monday-Friday, I will post the title of that day's chapter and maybe an excerpt from the chapter. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to read that day's selection from the book then click on the comment link and add your $.02 to the conversation. If you are a highlighter maybe just share what you highlighted and why you highlighted it. Maybe something really resonated with you as you tackled that day's experiment, share that with us. Maybe, as happened with me, the first time I read the book, God will reveal something to you. When I was younger it was all about who looked good who got all the girls who had all the muscle who had the nicest cloths and shoes and most of all who had MONEY and the faster and nicest car.The worst part of all thats what made people happy.
As I look back at all that I may have had those things but the one thing I never had was true happiness. And that came along when all that other stuff didnt mean anything to me and it became about GOD family and true friends.As you could see I dont idolize my body anymore my fat butt!!dont have to spend money on a hair cut with my bald head.Its all about what is on the inside and the heart!!! Thank you God for making me realize there is more to life then looking good.Thank you for making me the person I am today!!! AMEN
