Welcome to our online discussion of Dallas Willard and Jan Johnson's Renovation of the Heart in Daily Practice: Experiments in Spiritual Transformation. Each day, Monday-Friday, I will post the title of that day's chapter and maybe an excerpt from the chapter. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to read that day's selection from the book then click on the comment link and add your $.02 to the conversation. If you are a highlighter maybe just share what you highlighted and why you highlighted it. Maybe something really resonated with you as you tackled that day's experiment, share that with us. WOW this is a low blow!! I could really identify with this chapter I have always wanted one thing one minute and something else the next. Many times in the past and also sometimes today i say things or do things I end up regretting. There is nothing more I want to acomplish in my life then to be content with my life and have peace in my heart also put more of a focus on God. I GUESS I NEED HELP BEING RETRAINED IN THESE AREAS. I am just glad that God allows me to see my faults.
In my journal this morning I drew what look like a "web" - my heart in the middle and all the other stuff (choices, feelings, thoughts, etc) branching out of it. The condition each one of these is in depends on my heart.
I am going to type up Psalm 86:11 and hang it in a place where I have to look at it and think on it often (I think that place would be m computer monitor!).
This upcoming Lenten season I am going to focus on re-training my desires so I can have more of an undivided heart.
